Let me introduce myself. Lee Stafford, Candidate for Stalybridge North. So, after many years of persuasion I have finally decided that the time to stand is right. I don't profess to know a great deal about the N.H.S., Brexit or Austerity. I do claim though to know what matters to us locally. Childrens play areas, potholes, litter and the constant chipping away at our Towns assets through auctions and deals behind closed doors. I believe it is time that as a community we pull together, work together and demand together a better future for our Town. In May some of us will vote, many of us wont. IF YOU DON'T THEN IT'S TIME TO DO SO IF YOU WANT TO SEE REAL CHANGE IN YOUR COMMUNITY. I watch our MP, Jonathan Reynolds campaign for Proportional Representation yet at a local level in Tameside a large proportion of the Electorate are unrepresented. Why am I doing this ? Well, my eyes were opened when I attended the Speakers Panel for Planning meeting which voted on the sale of Melbourne Street car park. All 11 Councillors that voted were Labour Councillors. This is hardly Democratic. That's when the 'Whip' (boss) comes in and tells his/her subordinates which way to vote. Since this I have looked at other decisions that have been made in Stalybridge and they appear to follow the same pattern of 'sticking together' WE HAVE TO BREAK THIS CYCLE. It's not about what is best for Tameside Labour it is about what is best for us, as a community. For a long time now I have been stood on the outside looking in and considered as a 'Moaner' I want your vote so that I can stand on the inside and be YOUR voice, YOUR link and YOUR solution. The future of Stalybridge does not belong to us, it belongs to our future generations and I absolutely believe it is our duty to make sure that we protect that future. TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Lee Stafford. Stalybridge Town Party Candidate
